For over 60 years fine home building has been the family business. With experience that spans three generations, Wally Stover Homes is committed to quality and customer satisfaction. Attention to detail and professionalism are cornerstones of the company. We specialize in residential turn key construction and light commercial work.

The patriarch of the Stover family, Dorsey, built his first home in 1940 in Copper Hill, TN. At that time he subbed his labor to another builder. After honing his skills under others, Dorsey started his own business in 1946. He became so adapt at understanding blueprints, students at a local technical college would seek his advice and assistance.

In 1972, his eldest son, Wally, began working in the business full time. Hundreds of homes would follow in the North Georgia Mountains and beyond. The name of the business was changed to Wally Stover Homes in 1989, after brothers Denny and Ernie left to pursue other interest, and the retirement of Dorsey. Denny is the owner of True Value Hardware in Ellijay, and Ernie is an independent contractor specializing in finish work. Ernie works on many of the homes built today.

Wally Stover Jr., joined the company full time in 1998 after graduation from the University of Georgia. After growing up in the business, Wally Jr., and sister, Jennifer, have increased roles in the day to day operation of Wally Stover Homes. As the company continues to evolve, one thing has remained constant, a commitment to quality.

Wally Stover Homes enjoys a diversified portfolio. We have experience in many different types of homes including; stick frame, traditional brick construction, log homes, and alternative materials construction. The company enjoys a wealth of experience and knowledge in its labor force. Two employees have over 30 years with the company. We also have very little turnover, which creates continuity and cohesion.
